Ian, I've never been there but I think that Auffach and Niederau are connected by the usual type of free ski bus.

Auffach is the part of the small Wildschonau area that actually has some slopes to go at. And yes, its linked by a tediously slow bus.

I don't call that a linked resort when you have to get a bus ..... :roll:

Worldwide, I think you have to get a bus in most ski resorts either from your accommodation to the snow or to get from one part of the ski area to another.

That's why the Three Valleys in France is so good because it's truly lift linked with plenty of ski in/ski out accommodation.
