Does this appeal to anyone?

Just doing some research for next year and came across this on the Inghams website:

First Tracks Early Morning Ski:
A lift opens exceptionally early to take you up to enjoy breakfast in a mountain restaurant, ready to make the first tracks in the snow when the lifts fully open.

Price: £15 pp with the 2nd person free. Available from the week commencing 18th February. Book early as places are limited.

I assume it goes further than the nursery slope, would have to know where exactly you went to before making a decision and hopefully it would be more than just a ham roll for breakfast.

I've seen the same or something similar advertised a few times.

I love the idea personally. I have been lucky enough to hitch a lift up the hill early with pisteurs and what have a few times and it is wonderful to have the mountain to ones self for a run.

But ....

I would want to know the exact ins-and-outs first.
Where to? For a sensible length run.
What time? How long before everyone can get up the lifts.
How many? Nothing worse than thinking you would have the mountain to ones self and finding 55 others piling out of the restaurant!

To be fair i think if you get yourself outta bed early and get the first lift up you a pretty much certain to get the piste to yourself for that first run of the day.

To do that I would have go straight up after apres ski finishes :)

If you're that keen, consider an overnight at a mountain hut or café. In Verbier, you can spend the night at the Cabin du M.Fort and the Chez Simon restaurant. The Cabane is CHF 32 for a walker, ChF 52 for a skier for a night. Has anyone done this?

I thought that too, but then I also thought that if you actually go REALLY high, and assuming the whole hotel or worse, town, isn't attending the same event, then it would be beautifully quiet on that very first run. £7 isn't that much in the grand scheme of things, if it includes a reasonable breakfast too.
