Hello everyone, I'm looking for advice on the costs of hiring ski boots and skis in St Anton. I have booked to go there first week of easter and, looking at the usual equipment hire websites, the prices for equipment seem very high when compared to hiring in France etc. Is this normal and does anybody have any ideas on how to minimise the costs in St Anton ? Thanks in advance to you all.

I am afraid you will have to take it on the nose. Prices are high and there is no discounting. Mate of mine rented skis for a week for his OH and was gobsmacked at the price, over £100 just for skis and they were bronze standard.

My mate found the best price was actually in the ski hire shop under our hotel in St christoph, cheaper than booking online in advance as it happens. Ahler or something, sorry I forget the name.
Seemed to know what they were on about though.

My mate took his GF's skis in to have the bindings adjusted and came out crying with laughter as the guy in the shop picked them up, held them at arms length and announced "Zee skis are for childrenz"

Wibble.

One of the factors in why I did. The other being its good to know your own skis.
