Am i allowed to take a bottle of HP brown sauce from here in the UK to give to a friend out in Austria when i go skiing?
Checked with the airlines website and the said to speak to the Austrian Embassy to find out if I would be allowed....
Any ideas?

It will have to go in your suitcase, never get that through as hand luggage. Can't see why not, personal use etc.

That's what my mate said when he was arrested for taking 3 kilos of coke out with him...they just don't buy the 'it's for personal use' line anymore...

If the poor guy is out in Austria for any length of time he will need more than one bottle to kill the taste of the food

I usually take a small squeezy bottle of HP with me. Never had a problem.
Can't have a cooked breakfast without HP and some chalets only have red, I mean really!

Brown sauce in your luggage - no problem - in your hand luggage & it will get treated like any other liquid & get binned at security.
However a jar of proper English mustard would be far better....

I am with Andyhull on this one. Brown sauce or no sauce! I cant see customs opening your bag and bringing you in the back room when you collect your bag
