My college friend and I are planning a snowboarding trip around Easter, however we are UK based and have never been outside Europe and are in need of some help!

We will be visiting her dad in Denver, Colorado, and do not know where would be best for us to spend a few days boarding.

Any help with the following would be appreciated:

1) CHEAP. CHEAP CHEAP CHEAAAAP we really do not mind how scruffy the place is, just being able to afford the plane over is going to be tough..

2) When is best to go, snow-wise? Will there even be any decent snow in Easter?

3) We are both excellent skiiers, but only amateur snowboarders, so we need to go to a place good for beginners. Although we will probably revert to skiing by the end of the week ;D

Thankyou for anywhere you can suggest!

Hi SS, welcome to J2ski.

At Easter, a strong consideration is Breckenridge. With the village at over 9000ft, the snow should easily last. It is a great resort for getting lots of run time. A benefit of being based in Breck is that the area pass covers five other resorts, including Vail, Beaver Creek, Keystone, and my favourite, Arapahoe Basin. You need a hire car to take advantage.

Foodwise, you can get good meals at modest prices.

Accomodationwise, I generally go with a group, and we get a condo between us. It doesn't matter much where you stay, the ski bus system is great. So if you just google for accomodation, and look for the low cost end. The Fireside Inn offers Dorms at $30/40pp, and 2 person cabins at $75/105 per room.

Ski well.

Unless it's like last year.

Have your Dad find out the best places to buy lift passes in Denver. He might try REI, Sam's club, or Costco. You can often save twenty plus dollars a day doing this.
because I'm so inclined .....

Thats odd Trencher. My records show that last year's April snow was the best of the past four years, and double that of the previous year. Even the worst year is showing over a metre of snow at town level. Last 4 years:

Apr

133cm / 157cm

121cm / 142cm

105cm / 105cm

218cm / 218cm
