having just fleabayed some skis, i need to get myself a bit of a tool kit together, not looking to go mad (yet) just need the basics. Where can i pick up some wax(cheap)?? can anyone recommend some deccent gear scrapper's/file's a bevel & brush etc dont want or need fancie yellow ones just tools to do a job. Also need a small iron? Where to look and what to avoid?? what do you think i could pick up all the above for??? Cheers :lol:

You could do that,Swell. Or, you could head back on to fleabay, and bid £7.50 or £10 for a service.

You didn't buy some blue kneissls? I put a bid in for some a couple of days ago, with 15 secs to go. and.... I had forgotten to sign in!

No Dave they where some Atomic supercross, not bad for a hundred and twenty quid it would have cost me more to hire for two ski trips. Did notice the adverts for servicing whilst looking for skis, but quite fancie doing them myself. Will get hunting on the bay again, reckon its been about 13years since I last waxed a pair :lol: will get some oldies out the loft and do a practice run in them 1st.

Just depends if you get hold of a non steam iron

Or a steam iron & don't put water in it!

I think an Iron without the steam holes is best for a consistent heat to the base
