I would like to try skiing, maybe for 3 or 4 days. Can anyone give me any ideas on where to try, somewhere not to far a transfer from an airport and how I'd go about booking lessons, ski hire, passes etc. Did think about a package but its a whole week and can't do that this time. I'd be flying from Bristol. Sorry lot of questions, but I'm at a loss and any help would be very gratefully received. Cheers Vivalas.

Do an internet search for ski weekends and short breaks. www.skiweekends.com/ does short breaks.
As you are new to all the joys of skiing it is probably safer/easier to use a company to help you sort everything out.
Good luck, enjoy, let us know how you get on.

I'm quite flexible as to when I can go. I'll have a look at that site. Thanks.

Also dont be afraid to look at mainstream travel agents as thats where i have found the best deals and you can book everything through them including lessons and lift pass and lessons are usually discounted too. The only thing is i think they have best deals if you go for a week but plug some numbers in and see what you get :-)

I didn't get anywhere with that skiweekend site - no availability on anything I tapped in. Have tried the travel agents and the less than a week thing is an issue. I'm going to try to book flights direct to Geneva, has anyone any idea on transfer, booking lessons and accomodation? Sorry for the questions, am just clueless and so keen to give it a go. Thanks in advance.

If you plug in the ski resort website into google then the resort site usually has transfer information as well as recommended accommodation. It sometimes also comes with information on booking lessons and ski hire too. Hope this helps.

Hi not sure if you have managed to sort anything yet but there was an article in the daily mail on Saturday about how fantastic the skiing is in Scotland at the moment. it included details where to stay ski hire lessons lift passes etc. it might be worth a look. hope you get sorted.
