Wondering if anyone has any experience of the city? I spent so much time on Deutsche Bahn that I got a free first class return ticket anywhere. So I'm booked on the sleeper tomorrow night arriving 8am and not leaving till 5pm on Sunday.
Looking for touristy ideas, hotel recommendations, good bars, eating.
What I really wanna see is some Interesting architecture to sit down and draw if the weather is good, hence the choice of destination.
Anyone?.....,
Bueller?

Bueller ist nicht hier.
Have to say that Dresden looks an interesting place, have not been, but the old google turns up some interesting stuff. My method when going to Berlin, was to find the oldest stuble in town, and thereby is charachter. Seems to be heaps of Baroque architecture, and theOld Masters art gall ~ should be a good use of a freebie.
And while you are sinking your Saturday night beer, me and The OH, will be on stage at the Caird Hall, Dundee, singing in the Scottish Proms choir, briefly appearing at the Last Night of the Proms, when they share "You'll never walk Alone", round the 4 venues.
But in the interval, I shall be thinking about skiing, Admin.....

Well, what a wonderful city!! Didn't get much drawing done as I can't stop walking around looking at stuff. There is a very special feeling here, very hard to pin down however. Plenty of things to do, extremely laid back, no car required, I would certainly recommend for a weekend if there is cheap flights going.
Another couple of hours for a long lunch by the river, the 6 hours on the train!

Drawing,Tino? Are you a fellow dabbler? That is my kind of weekend ~ you turn a corner, and find a surprise piece of history. My favourite city for this is Vienna.
My little weekend mission was most enjoyable ~ first time I have sung with a big choir, (or any choir for that matter!) Just watching the first half on:

We only do one choral in the first half, The Anvil Chorus, a hot little Italian number!
Glad you are enjoying your visit, Tino.
Mmmm, drawing, eh?

So were you on the gogglebox then Dave? Glad you enjoyed the experience!!
I used to like to draw architecture, not very good but I find it relaxing, still have all my pencils, charcoal etc. Might give it a blast in the big Z before the temp really drops!!

I learned to draw as a method of communication in engineering. Having the principles of perspective allows me to draw Alpine pensions and barns. Keep practicing, Tino. In Zermatt, you can draw the Matterhorn every day, and have completely different pictures.
Yes, much to my OH's disgust, I was on loads on times, and the lady was on just a couple of times. She was up on the balcony, but I was almost middle, front row. We have just watched it on iplayer, but are looking to quickly buy a Hard Disk DVD recorder, so we can take some DVDs off. The whole show is on channel 4 on Friday night.
