Ok so i am looking for somewhere quiet on and off piste for me and fiance to head to for our honeymoon next Jan. Not too expensive but equally not stupid cheap so it looks tacky. Either hotel/ chalets or apartments. we are happy to consider anything in europe.
We will also be having friends there for a week with us so may need accommodation that can take more than just the two of us.
We normally go to Les Sept Laux (nr grenoble) as it is extremely quiet but would like to try somewhere a little different. I have been to Pas de le Casa in Andorra and that is not the kind of place we require as too much is based on geting hammered in the nightclubs...

I would appreciate any help please. :D

Pretty much everywhere is quiet in January. I'd avoid 'mega' ski domains but apart from that Europe is pretty much your oyster. Also, everywhere in January will be 'cheap'ish so you can pretty much pick your resort. I know where I am thinking of but it isn't my resort to recommend, I will wait for someone else to chime in with it

Hopefully its not somewhere like Val D'isere or Tignes as they seem to be the common suggestion and i have also been there and it was way too busy. I think i have been spoilt with L7L as we rarely met another person...grrr

As it's your honeymoon, somewhere special will be needed! I suggest Saas-Fee as it's spectacular, has high standards, and has plenty of hotels and apartments for your friends.

What about Megeve or La Clusaz?

I would suggest Les Seybells ski area, stopping in St Jean d'Arves.
Or you might like the sleepy village of Villeneuve in Serre Chevalier.
Or maybe somewhere like Le Grand Bornard where Wickers can tell us more.

Maybe look at Cortina or Madonna in Italy, or Ortisei maybe?

Saas Fe is definitely a good shout too, but its often very cold there.

As for Austria, consider stopping in one of the satellites of St Anton or Lech, for example Zurs or Stuben. Wonderful extensive skiing, tiny little hamlets.

Let us know what appeals out of that lot.

Leukerbad in Switzerland. Probably not the cheapest but there you can ski in the morning and go to one of its thermal spas in the evening. The latter is what this resort is very famous for so you don't get the usual loud ski crowd. But skiing is very decent and definitely underated.

a nice little place and only 15 minutes to either Les gets or Morillon...wasn't too busy on a beautiful Saturday in January and the lift pass for the week was €100
