Hi all

just wondered if anyone can advise on the skiing conditions in Borovets, Bulgaria, im off there 13th-20th march for my first skiing trip with a large group and understand there is very little or even no snow in parts, can anyone confirm this? im keeping an eye on the forecast and only 2cm appears to be forecast for a couple of days, getting a little concerned as thinking i may turn up in march with no snow and be disappointed :(

 iv booked my first skiing trip to Borovets for next year. seems like most people on this forum dont like the place.
You going have to right a review or your holiday there when you get back. Fingers crossed you'll have a good holiday and be able to write a good review!

I was there at Christmas!!

Won't be hard to have better skiing than I had!!

The chances of you having as little snow as I had have to be slim - so good luck.

Providing it stays below zero the snow cannons will work, so the nursery slopes will have snow. The only problem for beginners will be if the weather is generally bad or there are high winds and they shut the lifts; either way you may see a sudden (big) influx of skiiers onto the nursery slopes outside the Rila hotel.

For a beginner, this is not fun as the slopes will be packed solid and will make learning 100x harder.

Hope you have a better experience than I did!!

You might be lucky in march but you cant guarantee anything.

If you can afford it i would look to go somewhere else.

I have been there twice (We didn't learn from the first time)

If you want to see some web cams and speek to some people that believe that Bulgaria is the best place on the planet have a look at this http://www.bulgariaski.com/

Hi ,Went there last year at the beginning of march, only been skiing once before so i had very little expectations. Stayed at the Samokov hotel ( was ok apart from the cigarette smoke everywhere ). We had plenty of snow while we were there probably about 2 foot fell in one night at the top of the mountain, and over a foot in the resort . We were even able to ski back to the hotel a couple of the days.It probably snowed about 3 -4 days of the week we were there . Just keep checking the snow reports and good luck !

Peter

going to soll at the begining of march ,seems ages away !
