Easyjet from East Mids

Not sure if anyone has been made aware of this yet, but Easyjet this morning announed it will cease flying from East Midlands as from 6th Jan 2010.
This is the official announcement:

"Earlier today easyJet announced our intention to stop all flying from East Midlands Airport from 6 January 2010. This decision is a result of commercial considerations and plans to redeploy our aircraft across our network.We will continue to operate as normal up until 5 January 2010.

Customers with bookings for the period 6 January 2010 onwards will be contacted in the next few days with three options:

1. A full refund.
2. A transfer at no additional cost to an alternative easyJet flight from another airport.
3. A transfer at no additional cost to an alternative flight with bmibaby from East Midlands Airport."

Hells Bells, this will upset a lot of skiers with flights booked :shock:

I have booked December flights from East Midlands, but did look at January flights too. At the time, a warning box did flash up stating the above information. Friends booking January flights decided to go from Luton instead.

I've just had the email and was flying from East midlands so decided on a transfer ..everything went smoothly and now I've got better booking in times ,leave from Liverpool at 8.15am rather 11.30am and leave Barcelona 9.15pm rather than 3pm ..lucky i checked my crap box rather than just deleting it :)
