Ok, wheres the nearest skiing to Michigan?
My son goes to Uni next month and I see Michigan is high up close to Canada, on the great lakes, so guessed it might get snow in winter...?
Any ideas?
Oh, and does anyone know the best place to purchase flights online, and whether its best to book now or leave it until last minute?
I havcent done America before.
Thanks.

Thanks Ian. There are some slopes very close by to Midland where he will be living. Looks like I might be making my first trip to the States!!!!!!!!!!

Tony, The UP (upper peninsular) is where the best resorts are. Lots of lake effect snow off Lake Superior. Interestingly enough, the UP is the only place in the States where you can buy Cornish Pasties (tin miners from Cornwall settled there). Colleges have a long Xmas break and don't normally go back until almost the last week of January. The UP should have good snow till the end of March, though I think the resorts are open into April.
Maybe I can make it up there for a few turns.
Lots of other stuff to do as well, Ice fishing and snowmobiling.

I ended up booking direct with Delta for the cheapest prices, and the simple rule is book as far in advance as possible from experience.
