I am looking at getting my other half some new skis from Germany, a very good deal on the Sport Conrad website. They have a package which includes mounting the bindings if I give them the requred dimensions.
However, I have been asked WHERE I want the bindings mounted, the answer to a question I did not even know existed!
My options are:
1. True ski centre
2. Core centre
3. Standard (midsole plus 4.5cm)
4. Mid sole (freeride/offpiste)
They are going to be used mainly by Mrs H for piste skiing, but also for some off piste, probably 80/20 mix.
What should I ask for?

I would be surprised to be honest, if you mean dead center of the ski that is.
Most skis have a mark which is usually where the manufacturer reckons the center of the boot should be. The jig that is used to mount the binding has a pointer which marks the boot center, lining up these 2 marks is how you know where to drill the holes in a standard mount.
There are reasons to vary this position but for a standard piste oriented ski that shouldn't be necessary.
In 42 years of skiing I have never felt the need to have anything other than a standard mount

i didnt know there were 4 options to the mounting-i know that you can get them mounted in the centre for freestyle-spinning and jumping etc so I would say go with the standard one. I would need to find out where the "core centre" is and where the "true ski centre" was first!
dont go for mid sole though as the front will not be long enough for offpiste powdery stuff

I think something might be being lost in translation here.
A standard binding mount would in my opinion be midsole but it does depend ,I guess, on the ski and also what is meant by 'mid sole' ..... just to confuse things more
Just out of curiosity, what piste ski are you getting that doesn't have a rail mounted binding?

K2 Miss Demeanour, but they are not exactly a piste ski, more an all mountain ski.
I think my last 2 pairs of skis had the bindings mounted dead centre.
