K2 Apache Crossfire skis with MX 12 binding for £315 brand spanking new. 170s also.
What type of skier am I, I can do black piste no problems and really like to push myself but not the most graceful. As for speed Im a middle of the road type person and like control over anything. Im an on piste skier also.
I think i could get some cash knocked off, what do you think?
Advice on these please

Bit busy? I dont know how they compare as Ive not tried them which is part of the problem.
The best idea is to try them.. 170 does seem pretty short for a dude of your stature. Squirrely/unstable is what I thought bandit meant by 'busy'.
Just ok? I wouldn't want a ski to be just 'ok'. Assuming your ski club isn't real snow either?

Pretty well all mass produced skis are useable by most folks, to some degree.
What height and weight are you?
How many weeks on snow? Are you skiing blacks all day, and are we talking French style blacks or US single black diamonds?
What sort of skiing do you want to be doing in future winters? :D

No not skiing the blacks all day and its French & Italian type blacks. Im 6ft 3 and just over 14 stone. 6 weeks on snow. In the future Id like to be tested on moguls and go down the blacks with short turns.
I go away with my partner so usually when she has a coffee i go down the harder slopes. So 1 minute a nice cruisey red then off on a black.

Well, based on the S&R ski length guide, they are the right length for you, though to me, they seem short for your weight (but what do I know). With that narrow waist they may also be a bit "busy" on piste, a mid fat would be more relaxing and more versatile. How do they compare to the stuff you most recently used?
I would hope that the price comes down quite a bit, there will be lots of unsold skis about this spring.

I would definitely plump for at least the next length up, can't be bothered looking but is it a 178? Definitely sounds more reasonable to me.
