You are lucky in that there is always a lot of cheap gear on the German ebay. Would love to be able to pick up some bargains there.

160 to 170cm is easiest to learn on, though with your experience, 170s should be ok. Don't go shorter than 160. About 190mm has been the the most popular width, but is trending a little wider on the modern boards and a little wider still, for the Euro extreme carving style (which use lower binding angles). I would pick up a cheap used 160/164 with a 10/11M side cut to make the fastest progress and then look for a deal on a good board in the 170s.

What's making these videos so watchable is the stabilisation programs, in camera and on the computer.

Got some boots off eBay - now all I need is a board. Any suggestions (for an advanced regular boarder) to dip his toe in the world of Alpine boarding?
