bad gastein

we are having an unexpected 5 day ski break in bad gastein, has anyone outhere got any information regarding this resort ?
we are intermediate skiers and may also be looking for a nice reasonable hotel with a pool if anyone can rec one ?

A while since I have been so can't recommend any hotels but there is a good local pool (in Bad Hofgastein anyways) so I wouldn't worry too much about having one in your hotel.. plenty intermediate type runs to choose from and you can cover a lot of ground. Sport Gastein is a bus ride away if youa re feeling adventurous and it caters to more advanced level...

Salzburger Hof! Its great there, crystal use it though so may be difficult to get in? Its possibly one of closest hotels to the main ski area and has a nice spa pool area. Big buffet breakfasts, aswell as 5 course dinners!

When i went sportgastein was a neccesity as it was the only place with a real decent snow cover in the valley as it was the year of the bad snow season! 2 seasons ago i think!
