I am not the worried type however anybody with any local knowledge of Saas Fee and what sort of wind speeds they start stopping the lifts would be appreciated.

That's nothing, really. I would be very surprised if they stopped it at that.

Saas Fee seems to close down before other locations, and I wonder if it is perhaps connected with wind funnelling.
Also, perhaps condider the direction of lifts combined with prevailing winds.
I have certainly seen weather "pour" through a col above Saas Fee, and my experience was that runs were closed at times when you would not consider the weather to be severe enough, were you to be at a different resort.
