Valmeinier

Hey folks,

Myself and a few friends are off to Valmeinier for new years. we're mostly going because we got a really good deal organising it oursleves but while we've heard nothing but good stories about the slopes and the conditions in general... I haven't heard anything about the nightlife or what there is to do in the evening.

I should say that our main concern is to go boarding and skiing with any nightlife a bonus, not the other way around...

any feedback would be great!! :)

I went in 1999 it is a good resort, the night skiing is great not because of the quality but the standard of the lights, they were so poor it was like skiing in the dark great fun,at one stage all the lights went out,it was carnage.
I would certainly visit again, the coming back from Valloire can be difficult but improvements have properly been made over the past 10 years.

sounds good, really looking forward to falling over in snowpark but nightskiing sounds good!!

I stayed in Valmeinier Jan 2007. Was a poor time for snow however the skiing was still great fun with the majority of slopes open.

Didn't see much nightlife as went with the family however i belive there are a couple of clubs mainly frequented by the chalet staff which kick off approx 11 and run through to the wee small hours! Can't confirm how good or otherwise but the guys and girls in our hotel seemed to enjoy it!

the snow everywhere in the alps at that time wasn't great, i was in bardonecchia with not alot happening but like you said conditions werent too bad so we could still hit the slopes...

but thats good news about the nightlife!!
