Anybody been to Rauris???

Just found a staggeringly cheap deal to Rauris (Austria) as in £251 pp for one week s/c plus flights. The resort seems v small. Is it part of a bigger ski area or is that it? Any info would be greatly appreciated!

No, not been, but I have heard of the resort. I believe that one of the big T.O.'s take beginners there.
I may be misinterpreting your price info, but £251 for a week s/c + flights does not seem cheap (to me).

Never heard of it but seems cheap to me? Especially right now.

It seems an ok resort, there are quite a few resorts in the surrounding area if you have transport, Bad Gastein, Zell am see, etc.
Really depends on what you are looking for, and what you view as cheap. and if you like Austria !!!!

No misinterpretation, for 4 adults sharing an appartment it's £1001.00 with Neilson, seems a bit too small a resort for me though. I like to go exploring!

is it not next to Zell am See though? not linked but if there's a shuttle bus it could be good if there's an area lift pass

its in the next valley along from the Gastein Valley (just over the mountain really).

Never skied there, but went to have a quick look when I was in the area in July, really nice little village. Traditional Austrian place, lots of charm!

Rauris is in the Hohe Tauern National Park, in a dead end valley. Pretty village, limited skiing, about 25km. I don't think there is a linked ski-pass or skibus. There may be a postbus to BadGastein and Zell-am-Zee, Both are in the region of 25 km away.

Regarding value, the statement "plus flights" can be read either that the deal includes the flights, or these are extra. It doesn't look like a great deal. I would be looking to pay less than a £100pp for a 2 bedroom, 4 person apartment. Cheaper, if I go for an old place with limited facilities.
