Ok, so where's the best lift-served freeride terrain in Switzerland? I reckon in Italy it's Alagna and Gressoney and France probably Les Arcs or La Grave (for the brave). But what about en Suisse - I never skiied there yet - are Zermatt or Wengen any good?

Thanks, Steve

I keep hearing about Engelberg, and hope to get there later this season; big vertical apparently. Anyone skiied there?

I've been living in Central Switzerland for two years and had the chance to sample quite some local resorts. Engelberg itself is very popular and can therefore be crowdy, though it offers some radical off-piste. Generally it's very steep, angled and can be quite icy, but snow conditions change year to year. For me though, the best place to board in Switzerland considering massive freeride ranges and lift facilities is Flims-Laax. By far. With a special mention to the Vorab glacier.. the fastest run I've ever done.. For a good après-session, Laax has some good night life, and the Crap bar (not kidding) is awesome, same for Rider's Palace.. If you're touring in CH, Flims-Laax is an absolute must.
