Got back yesterday from Sauze. They had a big dump of snow on Monday which provided us with a good week of skiing. The sun was out every day after and for three days we didn't see a single cloud.

The skiing in the morning was great on the freshly groomed pistes but by late afternoon the main pistes would become quite slick. One of the best runs through the week (or at least the most fun) was the black mogul run 33 but even this by the end of the week was pretty devoid of mogules.

When we left on Sunday you could still ski to the very bottom and I expect you will be able to for some time yet but it ain't exactly grippy!

Fingures crossed for some more snow for Tony_H and Skiddadle.

Thanks for the report, Mr Fish.

We had a fab time last March when there was about 1/4 of the snow there currently is. I am however looking forward to being able to ski down to the resort, as last year we had to be thrown off the Clotes lift every night.

Forecast for this week is extermely cold temps, but no new snow for the foreseeable future. Hopefully there will be some next week.

Its been bitterly cold Keith, with temperatures set to drop further - I'd be amazed if they don't use the cannons overnight.

Deffinately no cannons running which we too thought was odd. Day temps were about 3 degrees (the previous week they reckoned they were hitting 16 degrees!) but it would have been cold enough at night. You sort of get the impression they're trying to save their euros where ever they could. We did see one being hit with an italian screwdriver though so they must be thinking about it.

Ellistine,

I am glad the snow conditions are still good in Sauze and I hope they remain the same or better as I am flying out on 24th with some people from a Deeping, that small town in Cambridge!!!!!

Am really looking forward to it as it is the first time I have been for many years.

I heard. Out there with Messers Tony_H and Skiddadle. Well you should have a laugh at the very least.

A quick tip for the Hotel Sauze: The ski room is very poor (if you stay out for a drink or two after skiing then you'll struggle to find some space) so bring them up to your room and stand them to dry in the bidet. After all, what else are you going to use it for!

Thanks for the info.

I am sure they will have a laugh at me on my ass.
But I will be fun I am sure of it.
