Can anyone give me advice on booking a holiday to Bansko for 29th March. I know its a way off but what is the snow usually like around the end of march? What is the resort really like?

Hi,
this year ski season runs from mid December until mid April, it's depends on the size of snow cover, but you have to know that at the end of March the snow begin to melt, and it is suitable for skiing only in the morning.

If it continues to snow, you should expect excellent conditions for skiing and snowboarding, for now there are 30 cm of fresh snow cover, and still snowing.
Christmas is a great celebration, expect lots of parties during your holiday.

you'll love it!
10 of us went for a week at the end of feb last year. really good mixture of runs for every level of boarder and the apre ski is bang on! we ate and drank as much as you'd want for around £10, take a hip flask filled with your favourite tiple and you cant go wrong!
breakfast is always served cold unless u ask for it warmed up so remember taht before u give anyone agro! and take enough cash as the cash machines were a bit ropey!

when u hire your stuff there are loads of shops on the way up to the gondola station, we payed about 60 quid for a weeks boots and board and i think the lift pass for full access was 120 for the week.

enjoy!

were off to andorra (pas de la casa) end of feb, cannot wait!
roberts your mothers brother!

I'm afraid after extensive research the only advice I can give is...DON'T. Seriously I spent ages trawling through endless reviews online as we were considering Bansko as our 2nd ski hol in 2008 and whilst you expect to have the odd duff review nothing could prepare for the sheer volume of duff reviews, if the place is half as bad as the reviews then I'd rather ski in Austria anytime, but that's just me, I'm sure you've done your own research before booking. If you do go it would be interesting to gauge your thoughts.
I would have got away with it if it wasn't for those pesky kids!

freezywater - why you talk when u haven’t been there.
There are few truly Bulgarian forums with lot of reviews about bansko and they are all good. check bulgariaski.com .
Also 3/4 of all purchases of new app. in bansko are from English people... :?:
You cant compare Austria and Bulgaria!
Holiday in Bansko will cost you more than half of what you going to pay for similar one in Austria.
For the poster- there are plenty runs to enjoy yourself and I am positive you will love it!
