Hi , I was wondering if anyone has been to Morzine in last few days, what are the snow conditions like, is Avoriaz ok? Are there any other resorts in driving distance that are getting some good snow? I am in Morzine from the 11th and I am getting a bit worried

It's wet down low right now (see Morzine Webcams ).

However... the weather is forecast to cool significantly from the weekend and there's snow coming. Doesn't look like a huge dump soon, but it's a start and may get revised up. ( Morzine forecast )

From reports on Facebook it looks like Avoriaz is ok but should be much improved by next week. HTH.

Just been catching up with the latest forecast model outputs and it's definitely looking wintry into the start of next week. For the northern French Alps, average temperatures should drop around 10C Sunday into Monday and there's likely to be some heavy precipitation at the same time - so could be some heavy snow fall, but possibly quite localized, potentially to low levels.

Temperatures may vary around the middle of the week, but with more precipitation queuing.

Going higher than Morzine's slopes will get you the best of what's coming; Avoriaz should be good but as you've got a car then I'd suggest keeping an eye on Flaine and La Clusaz - both of which can pick up more snow than nearby areas, depending on timing...

If you check out this page -> Snow forecasts for the Rhone Alpes resorts, and scroll down, there's a table showing you what's expected where and when.

Likely to change a lot, and it'll be all about the freezing level / snow line, but you'll be able to find some snow!

Dropped son off there yesterday - the Pleney side looks like mid-summer, totally without snow. The Super Morzine side (on up to Avoriaz), the course leaders said was OK. Obv the higher you go and more north facing the better. Snow forecast tonight.
Yeah, I knew that.

Also - we were in Megeve which was a washout, but Les Contamines was good and going under Mont Blanc to Courmayeur the snow was plentiful, totally like a different world to the French resorts. Probably too far to go but as Admin says more is on the way. Hope so as we are back out to PdS next week.
Yeah, I knew that.

I was back in Les Gets / Morzine from the 14th. I'd say we got plenty of snow!
Yeah, I knew that.

March 16th
A really good extra dump of snow has made Morzine, Les Gets and Avoriaz totally viable and we were skiing there just today-up Perrieres lift to Ranfolly, then to top of Chamossiere, and then down Choucas piste into Morzine and up Charniaz and back to Perrieres. A great circuit and snow in good condition.
Some runs that were fully closed and meadow like last week are covered again and reopened. Spring snow, get out early to avoid soupe de neige late afternoons-people enjoying beautiful long lunches and fab sunny views right now!
Avoriaz being higher up is fab- more snow and colder.
