Has anyone been to Morzine recently? As there seems to be only one (double) lift out of the village we are concerned there might be big queues in the morning. If you know what it's like, please put a post here – or reply by private message. We are planning a week in late February or early March. We would also welcome any general info on Morzine!

Hi there, it might look like there's only a double chairlift out of Morzine, but there's a gondola too (as well as the one up to Avoriaz and the funicular direct to Nyon) which moves people fairly quickly. I'm not sure about morning, as I use Les Gets, but it has been pretty quick to get out of Morzine when I've been down there. Hope that helps.

Thanks, Mark, for this info – which has encouraged us to book! Hope you continue to enjoy Les Gets. Can't wait to get on the slopes! Janet

Plenty of choices out of Morzine. You can take the Gondola on Super Mozine side up to lifts for Avoriaz. Various lifts get you to the Les Gets side.
Late Feb/early March should not be too busy.
Do try the Avoriaz side over to Lindarets and on further to swiss side plenty of good runs. The Morzine and Les Gets sides are a bit lower and not so good views etc. But plenty of options on runs.
You can take local bus to Lindaret gondola for a couple euros that cuts out a longish ski to that side.
Plenty of good restaurants all over portes du soleil.

Sorry correction.
The cable cars on the avoriaz link are at Ardent and Prodains. They get you to the Lindaret ski area.

When we have been we have tended to use the Ardent lift just outside of Morzine.

For me the French side of the Portes du Soleil is overdeveloped. Yes there may be lift capacity but the runs are crowded particularly in the second half of the season when the low lying runs have gone. The town of Morzine is nice and the runs would be good but for the volume of traffic.
