Hi everyone,

Has anyone had any experience of flying into Innsbruck and transiting (by hire car) directly to Italian ski resorts with regards to covid regulations / testing / passenger locator forms?

The Austrian rules read as follows:
general exemptions, regardless of where these people come from, apply to (no PCR-/LAMP-/TMA-test for SARS-CoV-2 necessary, no quarantine, no registration):
transit passengers or the transit through Austria without a stopover, which is also the case with only essential interruptions, if departure is guaranteed

I just wanted to check that you didn't have an issue with the airline (in particular Easyjet) turning up at the airport in the UK without the long list of evidence you usually need these days and that landing /picking up a hire car is considered an essential interruption by the Austrian authorities?

I'm just wanting to make sure there are no big, nasty surprises with our journey!

Many thanks for your help!

Travelling with a group on Saturday with BA into Innsbruck then private taxi to Selva. Everything says nothing needed for transit and a break to switch transport acceptable. There is no border control on the Brennero Pass so first time we may get asked is st the hotel. Will report back on here.

Did you manage to transit though Austria from Innsbruck airport OK without the Austrian requirements.
I am hoping to fly to Innsbruck then transfer to Italy in a weeks time and I was hoping to use the 24 hour Lateral Flow Test as opposed to the more expensive 48 hour PCR test as an entry requirement for Italy. (Austria is PCR test).

Thanks

Hi Runmartin
I haven't travelled yet.
It looks like you don't need to comply with any of the Austrian requirements, only the Italian ones. Passenger locator form and lateral flow within 24 hrs for Italy.
Have a great trip!

Re locator form , can't get passed arriving in Innsbruck .For the second leg of journey they only ask for flight details ( not road travel.) Travel next Sunday.
