I've just booked to go to Cervinia staying in Hotel Dragon. Never been to the area before, done italy a few times just not here.

Anyone got any pointers. We are half board but will defo be eating out. Any suggestions? Any ideas for bit of Apres for mid 40 year olds who like lively (not ravey!) bars?

Icy! Hey, great resort, superb ski area, wonderful range of slopes over into Zermatt as well. The Dragon is a bit like a Wetherspoons, Carling and Pie and Chips. Eating out might be a good idea..... unless things have changes recently!
Cretaz chair can be busy first thing but thats the area you will want to end up at in the evenings. Best lift out to get up and over is up to Plan Maison and then across and up again to the highest point. You can get to the far side of Zermatt and back in a day no problem, if you dont leave their too late and miss the last connection..... not a risk worth taking.
Lovely skiing in the Valtounanche (sp?) section worth visiting half a day or so.
Never found it overly busy even at Xmas week. Ive stayed in town and at the club med before and would defo go back for another visit.
Your only issue may be the covid restrictions but hey thats affecting everyone.

Enjoy. Some good bars in town as well.

Cheers for that, helpful :)

Yea dragon looked as you say, but tbh pie and chips is better than many hotel buffet! Yea covid is a pain, that's why we are doing TO for both skiing hols this year (arcs 1800 March).

Looking forward to somewhere new, Italy is also a lot cheaper than France (and Austria, glad we didn't book st anton as we wanted).

Away in Tenerife at the min, it's all fine apart from the exams to fill in forms :)
