The entire stock of over one hundred old gondolas from the Les 3 Vallees ski area was sold in just 10 minutes.
Méribel put 115 'bubbles' from the Olympe lift that runs from Brides-Les-Bains via Raffort to Les Allues on sale on Tuesday and within minutes all of them had been sold.
The lift is being upgraded this summer for the first time since it opened in 1991, to connect the spa resort of Brides - selected as an athletes' village for the Albertville Winter Olympics - with Les 3 Vallees.
The bubbles were available at €500 each.
Don't feel too bad if you missed out - you would have needed to collect your 343kg gondola from Méribel and transport it to your chosen location!
Proceeds from the sale - approximately €50,000 - will go towards protecting diversity in the ski area.
