As a teacher, who only ever goes skiing in the Easter holidays, I've been visiting the same higher up resorts (Tignes, Lech, Ischgl, Cervinia) for the past few years, and with the holidays being a bit earlier I'm excited about going somewhere different. I'll be going on 28th/29th March and I'm trying to choose between Sestriere and Morzine. Any advice on these would be welcome - is there likely to be enough snow to ski over to Claviere at that time in the season? Is Portes Du Soleil likely to still have a good snow coverage? Any advice gratefully received, thank you.

If you are in Sestriere, you need to be able to get out of the valley and that means thd cable car, ime, which is subject to high winds closing it.
I think the area is nice but I'd stay in MontG and get over to Sestriere by bus...most tour ops run that trip.

If the last few seasons are typical, id have no problem booking for Easter..but who knows.
Another gem is la Rosiere...imv.

Thanks very much. I did look at staying in Montgenevre but as a solo skier, it's hard to find places to stay where the single supplement doesn't cripple me which is why I've whittled it down to Morzine or Sestriere. I have enjoyed holidays in Sauze, Claviere and MontG in the past, but always at Easter and the route from Sestriere to Claviere has never been open when I've gone. I like the idea of a bus trip over to MontG, I'll see if my tour operator does it. Thank you.

Morzine is pretty low and my experiences in skiing the Portes De Soleil and Milky Way is the latter is generally a better option late on.
