We are looking to book something last minute dot com to fly out next weekend (18th) with decent snow. Price is a consideration, but I can look at that once I have a location in mind. Any suggestions please?

Snow cover's pretty decent across The Alps at the moment; the only exceptions being low-level resorts to the far West really.

There's a high pressure system settled in, so not much in the way of freshies in the immediate future unless you're prepared to hike a bit, but on-piste conditions are being reported as excellent (there'll be more detail in tomorrow morning's snow report) just about everywhere.

You can get a quick view of snow depths for the top resorts right here :- www.j2ski.com/snow_forecast/ (upper depths on the Mountain column).

What sort of skiing / food / apres-ski are you after? Next week's very much low season so you shouldn't have an issue finding accommodation, instructors, etc.

Good evening,

We are looking for Beginner/Intermediate with some other non ski activities such as snow shoeing etc. Not too fussed re apres-ski, reasonable food is needed, will be happy with decent chalet catering or half board.
Forgive my ignorance, how come next week is low season? I would expect season to run as long as there is snow, or is it based on the school holidays?

Exactly this. Almost everywhere will be quiet next week, although blue skies and good snow brings out the locals in traditional resorts.

You're spoilt for choice, TBH - pick an airport that works for you and go from there?

Havent really kept my eyes out for snow reports yet but i'd look for north facing resorts on the french Italian border myself with base station above 1500 and top station around 2500 plus.
French has chalet holidays which if you are lucky with the rooms are greaf fif potentially making ski buddies quickly...should you want that.
I'd suggest googling 'ski chalet holidays ' for options.
If you want hotel or apartments then look at places like puy st Vincent in france.
Switzerland, booking.com for Anniviers and Grimentz. you need to be willing to use a bus for the whole area especially St Luc. Easy self drive from Geneva or even Sion.

Chalet in france, Montgenvre or La Rosiere?
