The upper slopes were closed due to wind and avalanche risk, with all the new snow that has fallen, but the knee deep powder on the uncrowded pistes was an absolute joy!

Heavy snow for almost a week, then a beautiful Saturday!
Avalanche risk 3, so care needed off piste, but the powder to the sides of the piste was gorgeous.

Beautiful sunny day, but if you check out the mountains behind, you can see the wind... The lifts closed in the afternoon, but the snow was beautiful. The avalanche risk is 3 'Considerable' following heavy snow this week and high winds for the last few days. The sides of the piste were thick, wind blown crust, but there is powder to be found.
More of the same sunshine tomorrow, but less wind.
Happy Christmas!

Hi Gary - can't disagree with you there! This is our fourth full season in Gressoney and we love it.
It's the mad season for the next couple of weeks, since it's the Italian holidays, but it should be back to its normal, deserted self by the time you come out in a couple of weeks.
The snow is amazing and there is more forecast, so I am sure that you will have a wonderful time!
I shall keep posting in the meantime, although we ski less when it's busy like this.
