Well, it's that time again. Brucie will be heading out to Soldeu shortly. My spies in resort tell me its a great start to the season, so looking forward to getting back on the planks.
Anyone requiring any info or advice on Grandvalira area, just drop me a message and I'll do my best to help out.
Have a great season everyone, wherever you are sliding!

We are coming to Soldeu in March. While w have skied Grandvalira for 8 of the last 10 years, my wife is not a confident skier (despite going into the Ski school every year), having a couple of nasty falls. She would like to find out about non 'downhill' group activities while I am skiing. Please can you provide any info on these. BTW we are both eligible for free lift passes this year.

First time to Andorra in January. Staying in El Tarter which seems close to a lift. Any suggestions on where to eat, any event? Any good tree powder spots on the mountain?

Not going to be in Soldeu this year for the first time in several years. Will certainly miss it and be back ASAP. I guess my 6 week old daughter makes up for not being there!

Have a great season!

I will try to answer above queries after a day in the powder. Huge dump overnight!

Nearly went back to Soldeu in Jan (opted for Bardonecchia in the end)
Had our second week on the snow staying in El Tartar when there wasn't much snow and returned a few years later, staying in Soldeu when there was so much snow that the snow fences were almost covered.

Will go back again sooner or later as I like the area.

Brilliant days skiing today. Piste was in perfect condition, and being midweek, fairly quiet.
In answer to the above questions.
Martin, there are plenty off piste activities to keep the Mrs happy, not least shopping in Andorra La Vella. Contact ATS, Andorra Travel Services re activities and excursions. They are based in Soldeu village. Plenty nice terraces at the top of the Gondola for sunbathing if the weather permits.
Pardon Arden, there are two ways to get up the mountain from El Tarter, a Gondola and a chair, both arriving close to the El Tarter Ski School. Loads of wide open pistes and tree skiing all over the mountain, and there is an apres ski bar called L'Abarset at the foot of the El Tarter pistes. There are more restaurants up in Soldeu than El Tarter, but you won't go hungry
The good news, as I said, is that the snow is in really good condition. Enjoy Grandvalira!
