The Ski Podcast turns 60

Iainm posted Dec-2019

According to the latest figures from RAJAR, podcasts there are now 8.4m regular listeners in the UK – a 40% increase on a year earlier.

'The Ski Podcast' is one of thousands of podcasts available, but while some start with a flurry, but then stop after only a few episodes, the team behind 'The Ski Podcast' have just published their 60th episode.

Magazine-style format

The podcast was founded by Iain Martin and Jim Duncombe in September 2017 and attracts thousands of listeners every month.

The format is an informal, fun magazine-style, with news and interviews, covering all aspects of snowsports. Recent episodes have included reviews of the London Ski and Snowboard Festival and the High Five Festival in Annecy; features about skiing in Japan, Montenegro and Morocco; advice on the Haute Route, travelling as a single skier and taking a motorhome to a ski resort.

Celebrity interviews

Celebrities interviewed on the podcast include Eddie 'The Eagle' Edwards, Billy Morgan, Chemmy Alcott, Graham Bell and Ed Leigh. In February 2018, Iain and Jim produced a daily podcast for the entire period of the PyeongChang Winter Olympics.
