Grands Montets Top bin question ..

Anyone have any news on the current state of GM top bin !!

According a report in the local press http://www.lemessager.fr/faucigny/chamonix-la-gare-de-telepherique-des-grands-montets-ne-ia933b0n213165 it's going to take 3 years to rebuild the Grands Montets cable car, mainly because the top station is located in a protected area so there are lots of environmental issues.

The star architect Renzo Piano https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Renzo_Piano has been commissioned to design the lift stations.

A major stumbling block seems to have been getting the insurance companies to pay out. The two main insurers Generali (55%) and Allianz (30%) have now agreed, but the RSA Insurance Group (15%) is still refusing to pay the claim.

In Lognan, the intermediate station that burned down in 2018 would be replaced by two smaller ones. One would connect the summit with a detachable device capable of transporting easily 750 people per hour: the maximum threshold already authorized for the previous cable car, but which in practice did not exceed 400 people per hour. The capacity would thus be almost doubled, considerably reducing the queues to reach the summit.
