Hey Pete,
Can highly recommend the following places
Christine's (On the mountain \ book in advance)
Red Door Bistro - Cab ride away and book well in advance
Rim Rock Cafe - Our favourite, book in advance
Sushi Village - Great Sushi / Sashimi always busy get there early or put your name down
Pizzeria Antico - Best Pizza in Whistler
Merlins - base at Wizard - great pub with decent food.
Portobello- great Breakfast - Dirty bowl is a must try!

At least last time I visited it really felt like everywhere was similar - perhaps a consequence of the single ownership vs. being an organic mountain town/village and hence feels a bit like a big franchise bubble.
