Greetings all! I am a 50s Canadian male skier, high intermediate-low advanced (depending on time of the day ), looking to share accommodations, skiing, chats, well prepared breakfasts (and dinners if I'm in good mood), doormats and tooth brush cup holders with someone who goes skiing for a week anytime between end of January 2019 to first week in March 2019. Been around a bit, here and there, Canada, US, Europe and I prefer high altitude skiing due to fast, dry snow versus an unseasonal warm winter with wet snow or no snow at all at low altitudes (been there, done that!). Looking forward to hear from anybody who wants to do the same, even if you want to cook meals too! Cheers and be safe out there!

Hi
I'm retired and a bit older than you and from your description you are probably a better skier than myself but would be a similar standard I hope. I generally ski either by myself and join others through a club or with friends. I have booked two holidays this year already and I would hope to go a couple more times. I would normally book last min depending on snow and any good deals. I would be happy to go with another and share accommodation and the skiing experience. I too like higher resorts but am not keen on small resorts.
If you think it may be a good idea let me know and we could share thoughts and ideas and possible exchange emails. Andy

Andy,

Thanks for replying to my post. Rating myself as a skier can always be a be a bit subjective so that was just to say I do ski. I used to ski with 3 buddies of mine and first year we went together to Zermatt, my friend Martin only knew the basics of how to put the boots on,how to step into bindings and slow down a bit with the plow. We had a fantastic time and went together for another 4 years together before he retired and his wife retired his boots too.
Actually it's my first time posting this type of request here because it worked so well for me this year in February joining a nice Australian guy in Whistler who posted the same thing last December.
Do you have anything in mind for this year? Following this year's experience in Whistler where they had a decent snow coverage and I tried a bit more than in any of the previous years to go off piste (no heli or backcountry just beside the groomed trails), I have upgraded my gear that was about 8-9 years old and strictly for groomed trails in (a lot of time) hard packed or icy Eastern Canada to a more all mountain gear. So I am ready. Since I'm still working though, I would need to give my employer some notice (2-3 weeks) before I take the one week skiing vacation. I have couple of places in mind and I'll send them to you soon. If you want you can PM me directly. All the best! Val
