Flying into Austria and am looking to go to the Dolomites. Any advice on where to ski which isnt a 3 day hike from Innsbruck. Intermediate bordering on advanced skier.

Also looking for a ski buddy/group to join around the end of Jan/early Feb.

You could look at Kronplatz (Reischach, Olang, San Vigilio, about 90min drive from Innsbruck https://www.kronplatz.com/en/winter/skiing-snowboarding

Or for more info on Dolomiti Superski resorts https://www.dolomitisuperski.com/en

Hope this helps.

Would definitely second Flat Country skier's comments on Kronplatz - has a nice mix of easy warms up plus a really awesome black down to the bottom over which one of the gondalas goes - but you need to wait till there's enough coverage all the way down as there are some near vertical steps - used to be a nice bar at the bottom of the run, which, sadly, they've turned into a ski hire place.

Hi Peanut, I definitely agree with Flat country skier, Kronplaz is one of the best resort for skiing and it is also quite close by Innsbruck. I have been there for many years and I warmly suggest it to you. Let me know if you make the decision to go there we might meet, I am there very often.

Peanut. Have you seen our group trip to Val di Fassa, Canazei in the Dolomites? You would be very welcome to join us if you wish.
