Hi,
We are a family of 5 from New Zealand planning to spend a season in Europe.
If anyone had any tips or advice on renting accommodation for the season we would be very very appreciative. From NZ it is so hard to know where to start!
We don't need (and can't afford) the higher end of town. In fact small and friendly is perfect. We are looking at Austria but could look at Slovenia or Italy.
We previously spent part of a season in and around Alpendorf (St Johann im Pongau) and loved it. We will look to go back there but accommodation is more than when we last went (quite a long time agao). We have also skied in Slovenia and would consider going back and have tried Slovakia (probably prefer not to go there again).
Does anyone have any tips for finding a house or apartment for a season, has anyone done this before?
Btw, in NZ we love the smaller fields - our favourite is Ohau ... just one small chairlift but friendly, lots of terrain to access and lots of enthusiastic people ... of course that will do for a week, and we're going for a season (but if you come to NZ ... definitely check out Ohau!)
