I am definitely a skiier/boarder looking for a bargain! Every year we drive down to France for 2 weeks at Easter and with the amazing snow this April we really lucked out. With only a few weeks to go, I found that after April 7th, Alpe D'Huez reduced their family lift pass down to just under 500 Euros for 4 which I thought was a bargain. Loved the resort as well. May well try this again, as I assume that it is relatively snow sure with the glacier - there were still metres of snow piled up around our accommodation when we left.
My question is simply does anyone know of any other Easter bargains? I have spent hours looking through the internet and these deals are not that easy to find. As we are always driving, we would probably only consider French resorts - the 9 hour drive back at the end nearly finished my off as it is! Thanks for any information.

Alpe D-Huez likes to boast that it is one of the sunniest resorts in the alps. Great in cold weather for lovely bluebird days. Unfortunately, not necessarily so nice in late season when temperatures can soar. This year was exceptional for late season skiing - I don't think Alpe d-Huez would generally be regarded as a good bet for late season skiing.

Thanks Wanderer. That's really interesting to know. I think like this year we will leave it late and see how the season is progressing. We had friends who were in Deux Alpes about a week before and said how mild it was and that the snow was really sticky.
We are lucky enough to go for 2 weeks each year I was just wondering about cheap alternatives. We also go to La Norma which we love and is a smaller/cheaper resort but obviously far more limited in the number of runs.

There are quite a few but, as you've noticed, not always widely advertised.

We've covered a few here; notably La Clusaz's "Learn to Ski for Free" late-season deal, but you also might keep an eye on Monterosa (Champoluc et al) as that's only a couple of hours extra drive via the Mont Blanc tunnel and for the past few years they've done "lift pass included" deals with accommodation for the last week or two of the season.

There's certainly been a push in French resorts to bring more people to the mountains at Easter and later, and - especially after this winters epic late-season skiing - we can expect that to continue.

That's great, thank you. I will also look through the forums.
La Norma also had a great deal where you could get the Eskimo pass for free for that week and visit the other 4 resorts. In the end the snow was so amazing we didn't take advantage of this.
We had 2 weeks of fresh snow every other day and two weeks of lift passes for the price of one at one of the big resorts. I suspect that this is unlikely to happen again, but who knows!?

On the 13th April Mottaret/Meribel drops by 50 Euros but it is still 200 for an adult.
Is it just the 2 of you? 2 adults and 2 children get the children's rate and then it is getting a bit cheaper!

Hi Surferneil,
Thank you for your help. Yes, this time it is only 2 of us. We were in Val d'Isere last April and conditions were epic !
