Engelberg is reporting the snow depth on its Titlis glacier slopes have reached 7.7m (nearly 26 feet) – a leap of nearly 1.2m (Four feet) compared to a week ago.
The Central Swiss ski area says it has had 145cm (Nearly five feet) of snowfall over the past five days.
It's unusual for a ski area's base to keep growing in to April.
It's some year since any ski area in Europe has reported a 7m+ snow depth and the total reflects the remarkable snow depths across Europe this ski season. The snow is so deep that Les Arcs yesterday announced plans to open its glacier for summer skiing for the first time this century.
Engelberg's base depth 2000 vertical metres below down in the valley is less than 10% the upper slope depth, at 50cm.
The resort's 7.7m base is the world's deepest this ski season. Mt Baker in Washington State, USA, which traditionally is one of the snowiest resorts on earth, has built up a 622cm so far this season.
