Travel to the dolomites - Selva?

Have been searching for ways to travel to the dolomites, only flight options are either Munich or Verona, and I see there is a train that goes from Munich to Bolzano, just wondering if anyone has done this journey by public transport and can suggest the best route, or would it be better to get the train to Innsbruck and if so is there a bus from Innsbruck, no flight available from Ireland to Innsbruck.

The train from Munich to Bolzano goes through Innsbruck. The fare and journey time from Innsbruck to Bolzano is roughly half of that from Munich. I think the connection from Verona is the same train but going in the other direction, ie towards Munich. You'd need to take a bus from Innsbruck airport to the train station; if using Munich airport, the connection to the main train station or Hauptbahnhof is by train from the airport. I'm pretty sure that connections from Verona airport to Verona train station are quite straightforward too. Trains in both directions are very frequent.

A bus service transports you from Bressanone and Bolzano almost every hour to Val Gardena.

If you can, fly to Verona, much closer than Münich. Train to Bolzano, bus or taxi to Selva depending on your arrival time. Taxi from there should be around €95 to Selva. The Alto Adige bus might be still running too (assume it's still this season you're planning to go) they will pick you up from Verona and drop off at your hotel in Selva. You could contact a tourist info or your accommodation in Selva for more information.

There is another thread on this topic from a few months back. I have driven from Munich but it is a long journey, especially on transfer days due to traffic and the new border controls near Kufstein.
