For reasons too long to explain, this year I had a pair of ski boots hired for a day. 10 days after I returned home I still have sore shins from these boots, there is no visible bruising, but they are very tender. Anyone any idea how long before they return to normal?
Rather a bad day on the slopes than a good day in the office!

Had something similar many years ago from slightly-too-large hire boots; shins take ages to calm down once bruised.

Check with your Doc if concerned but icing it a couple of times a day and exercising and elevating your legs should help.

I took a really bad fall his year ( I ended up in hospital with concussion) and i fell on my shoulder and leg.I had a square lump on my right quad which hurt caused by the contents of my pocket...but no bruising..I was surprised at that but it was explained to me by a doctor in our group that there is little flesh in that area and the damage is just above the bone which takes some time to heal ..but no bruises

Just as an aside I had no bruises on my upper arm shoulder either but it still hurts and I have restricted movement..so your shin problem comes as no surprise
