Hi,

We have booked to go to Igls in February half term to find some proper snow for the kids (7 & eight). We do not plan to ski but would like to toboggan, have horse drawn sleigh ride, maybe go on the train from Innsbruck to somewhere...

Are we missing anything? What would you do?

And the big question... will it snow ❄️❄️❄️❄️?!

Sooooo excited!

For me the biggest question is why are you not skiing? Or getting the kids skiing? They are the perfect age to get going  .

It seems a bit of a waste to head to a ski resort and then not ski. But maybe that's me - an obsessed ski fanatic (like many on this site) .

Cost mostly, we just wanted snow on a budget. Would be nice though, I know they'd love it.

Well just to update, in case anyone else goes...

We bussed to Innsbruck and took a train to Seefeld in the snow. Amazing day, wandering round shops, horse drawn carriage ride, playing in the snow next to the skiers. It snowed good and proper!

We took the free ski bus to the Stubai Glacier and cable carried up. Saw the ice cave, played and played in the snow, sky was clear blue so amazing views and face timed the grandparents at 3000m!

We went up Igls mountain Patcherskofel, sledged and watched the ski school. Yes, next time we will be tempted to ski! More playing in the deep snow and another clear blue day.

We also found two parks to play in, geocached, ate in Igls, swam in the hotel pool.

''Twas brilliant.

Glad that worked out well for you all, and thanks for the update. It's easy to forget just how much fun snow can be, even if you're not skiing!

Look forward to hearing about your first steps on skis next winter then? 8)
