A Fondue in Your Gondola Sir?

J2SkiNews posted Dec-2017

A Swiss company is to offer in-gondola-cabin fondue dinners at three of the country's leading resorts this winter.

Of course not whilst the cabins are full of skiers, but at the end of the day when the company, Tête à Tête - Swiss Events, transforms the entire lift in to a vast moving pop-up restaurant with specially designed tables popped in to 60 or 70 cabins, depending on the lift.

The lifts then run slowly to give a trip of approximately 90 to 105 minutes, again depending on the lift, and making two full rotations, during which time three courses are served.

Company founders Bart A. Kistemaker and Natasha Sanz de Acedo have had great success with the concept, which they've named 'Fondue in the Sky' with three sold out events over the past two seasons at Villars.

This winter, as well as returning to Villars in 2018, Fondue in the Sky will also be held for the
first time in Verbier on the 17th February 2018 and in Crans-Montana on the 30th of March 2018.

The company can cater for around 360 to 420 diners on each night with couple put together in to groups of six to fill a cabin. Tickets for the full experience cost from 85 to 95 Swiss Francs per adult and for 70-80 Swiss Francs for under 15s, depending on the resort.

Bart and Natasha are very proud of their fondue, which is especially blended for them by a renowned cheese producer, while the wine, charcuterie, bread, and dessert are selected from the best local artisanal establishments, distinguishing each resort's prided delicacies.
"Fondue in the Sky creates an unforgettable experience for all its participants. This exclusive and audacious pop up event gives an exciting modern twist to the Swiss traditional Fondue dinner. It is a family friendly occasion, held in a sporty mountain resort, thus attracting a diversified clientele spanning all ages and nationalities," said Bart.
