Hi guys,my wife suffers from very cold hands after about 20mins of skiing so I'm asking for advice on top quality ski mits, the reason I say mits is that it would be easier for her to put a hand warmer in.

I suffer to some extent with cold hands. Firstly I think mittens are warmer than gloves although they offer less movement, if this is a problem there are lobster gloves which are a cross between gloves and mittens but I have not used. I also use a pair of silk inner gloves. It's important not to buy a pair of gloves which are not-too small. For circulation and if needed inner gloves.
As for which make a have tried several pairs in the £15 to £50 range some better than others although this always reflecteed in the price.
I finally bought a pair of Arcteryx gloves at well over a hundred pounds think about £135. There are very good and the inners come out to warm and or dry which is great. Do I still get cold hands yes but not so often. Hope this helps

I was just about to ask the very same question. She has seen some nice SOLOMAN mitts at about £80 and some of the heated ones for out £230 both Ellis Brigham. She really does suffer with cold fingers. I just tell her to man up but she doesnt find it funny. Any advice much appreciated....

Having suffered with a cold finger after a neck disc problem I always ski in mittens.

Had several pairs over the years - North Face were very good and surprisingly the Aldi mitts were also as good as any I've tried.

Liners and a good fit are key.

Personally I use Hestra Heli, the long cuffs and drawstring allowing them to easily be pulled over ski jacket and tightened. They are a bit expensive but should last 10+yrs.

I would add that the real key to warm hands is:
Thermals with thumb hole (makes a massive difference)
Sufficient layers
