I have odd size feet (8 and 10), minimal calf on the right leg, very high instep on the right leg, minimal forward flexion on the right ankle and the right leg is 12mm shorter than the left (I am club footed on my right leg). Boot fitting for me is a proverbial nightmare and until now for 30 years I have really struggled with fitting in the UK - until now. For anyone with boot fit issues or for anyone who just wants more time and more personal care in their fitting can I recommend two options who I think are the best in the country:
The Snow and Rock Chertsey store is a real centre of excellence, Alex has exceptional skill and attention to detail in boot fitting, she understands 'problem' feet and quickly identifies the right boot and the correct fit adjustments, she has an array of experience of various foot problems and disabilities. This store may be a brief journey out of town, however its really accessible just off the M25 with plenty of parking, the store has the scale to display a broad range and make you feel unrushed. The essence of this store is its exceptional staff with Alex and Simon leading the charge. If you are around London and the home counties and have 'problem feet' don't bother with the other branches or competitors, head straight here.
Colin Martins store Solutions 4 Feet, in Bicester is brilliant for anyone more central in the country, or who needs an even more personal service. The service here is by appointment only allowing Colin and his team to totally focus on you. They stock a wide range of boots and their brilliant onsite workshop can make whatever adjustments are needed to fit you - Colin has seen it all, for him its easy. When I say whatever, I mean exactly that, ask to see the boot he has made 30 mm longer by grinding and adding on a whole new handmade sole / DIN plate, its a brilliant solution for someone with one leg significantly shorter than the other - these guys can do anything!
These two stores are where the industry insiders go, they have solved my problems, give them a try I cannot recommend them highly enough.

A few years ago I travelled (flight) from Edinburgh to Bicester for an appointment with Colin - hire car, hotel etc) and within 10 minutes he told me he could not help!!!!
Initial thoughts were "FFS how much has this cost" but he recommended a shop in Abingdon and got me a same day appointment.
I was fitted for custom boots (Daleboots) and received them 2 weeks later....like old worn slippers compared to the crippling boots I had endured before.
Solutions4feet could not fix my weird combination of issues but the service and attitude was fantastic.
