French ski resort Courchevel is opening early but for one day only – today!
In a repeat of a similar initiative last winter, the famous 3 Valleys ski area is running its lifts free-of charge for anyone wanting to hit the slopes.
"As a result of the big snowfall on Sunday night and the sunshine scheduled for Wednesday, conditions are too perfect, we cannot remain closed! If you're in the area, you are welcome to join us," a resort spokesperson said.
Organised as a kind of open day as well as a celebration of the start of winter, resort staff are on hand to talk about their work.
The Verdons gondola and Biollay lifts will be running from 9am to 4pm and there'll be free ski lesson available for children, as well as free parking.
