Hi,

I am looking at going skiing week beginning Monday 17th April. Where would be the best place to go in Europe to guarantee snow?

Is Austria any good? Currently looking at Paznauntal.

Thanks

Ischgl is worth a look.
I have been a couple of times in mid April.
Home runs were open but sugary as expected as the day warmed up but up top was fine.
Start early, ski the sunny Swiss side first thing, and spend the afternoon on the Austrian slopes.

Short answer is NO!!! If you are really keen for Austria in April then it has to be Obergurgl or Hochgurgl--both around 7,000 feet at village level and can ski until early May. Most of Austria has low resorts.

Pole Plant clearly doesn't know what he is talking about although he is right about Obergurgl.
In addition there is Obertaun and Lech. There are also several glacier resorts where the skiing in April is usually excellent such as Kaprun, Stubai, Pitztal, Hintertux.
