So does anyone know the best simcards to use there? The Andorran sim wouldn't be a problem if we can get them in Soldeu. If not, would it be better to have a French or Spanish sim, what do the locals use?
Any info would be appreciated.

Depends how long you plan to be there, and what you plan to use the phone for. Locals use Andorran Sim cards. You would have to go to La Vella to get one though.

Living in Soldeu for the season, I get by with my UK phone. The texts are not expensive, and I use Skype for calls. WiFi is pretty freely available in the village and mountain restaurants.

If you're on O2 then you can get a £1.99/day Euro Bundle. It only gets charged if you use data roaming etc. So you can avoid it if you're careful. I just factor it in to the cost of the holiday, although I appreciate that if it's for the season, you might more actively go into non-roaming mode.

I'm afraid you will find that Andorra is not included in Euro bundles.

Its Andorra Telecom! They are a law unto themselves and are bundled with Algeria, Angola, Bhutan, Chad, Greenland, Lebanon, Madagascar, Sao Tome & Principe and Tunisia for roaming charges!
