Transfers - Innsbruck to Langenfeld/Obergurgl

Has anyone any info on the cheapest transfers from Innsbruck Airport to Langenfield/Obergurgl area which isn't too expensive. Taxis seem so expensive. We are going skiing around the 23rd March. Any replies gratefully received. Thanks.

I haven't used it, but there appears to be a public bus service called the Otztal shuttle going from Innsbruck airport to various places in the Otztal including Langenfeld and Obergurgl. See this link where you can download a timetable.

Certainly there are buses to the Oeztal from Innsbruck airport. It takes about one and a half hours from Innsbruck to Obergurgl. Acarr provides the link.

I've used the Otztal shuttle; it's not a public bus service, it's a coach transfer for which it's best to pre-book.

Thanks for all your replies. Found it difficult to book this shuttle although I worked it out in the end but eventually decided to get a car and am going to put a question about driving to Lang shortly on a new topic.

A car in that area is really useful, particularly if you're staying at Längenfeld as you'll want to get to the lifts early doors! Also, if you pay 10 euros extra when you buy your pass in Sölden, you can ski a day in Obergurgl and vice versa. Ive recently bent Sölden for the second time, and I thoroughly recommend it, and having a car means you can get to either resort from Längenfeld without the need for ski buses, and beat the crowds onto the first lift.
Depending on your flight times and plans for the days you're there, I can also recommend stopping in Ötz and skiing at Hochötz/Kuhtai.

Its an easy drive from Innsbruck. You can avoid the 9,60 euros for a motorway vignette if you really want and drive across the pass into Kuhtai and down into Ötz, then up the 171 towards Sölden. Längenfeld is around a 10-15 minute drive from Sölden and a further 15-20 mins to Obergurgl.

If you are skiing Sölden, don't stop at the first lift station at Giggijoch as its way busier and also the run off can be difficult, carry on through the town and park near the Gaislachkogelbahn which gives you faster access to the ski area, and you can take the 2 stage modern lift up to over 3000m first thing.

Interesting choice of place to stay, Längenfeld, but theres plenty of good places you can get to with a car from there to ski.
