Not sure if I was noticed as AWOL, I wasn't the biggest contributor etc so not holding my breath :D

Anyway, after 3 years of not skiing at all, whatsoever, I'm finally heading back to the slopes. Have booked Morzine w/c 19th March and hoping to take the kids for a short break in Feb. On this note, does anyone have any suggestions of who to use for a reasonably priced short break?

Are people still Niederau bashing? Has anyone else been championing skiing in Spain?

Welcome back Coop :)
In answer to your questions 1. A bit but not as much as before and 2. I don't know but Wickers has actually moved to Spain so watch this space.

Hey hey welcome back; always good to hear of someone getting back into it after a break...

For short breaks try Ski weekender (based in La Clusaz but may go elsewhere) or Ski Weekends?

And, yes, Wickers may be our man on the spot in Spain (Sierra Nevada rather than Pyrenees).

Hi Coop, welcome back. It is Feb 2010, since we last messaged!

Carolyn is still working for the ski school, but Leon has moved on.

And yes, there will be some of us in Niederau this season.

And AlpeD'Huez.

And Vail, Beaver Creek, Arapahoe Basin, Keystone, Breckenridge.

Possibly Aspen.....

Welcome back! Good to hear you are back in the frame.
Cervinia late Jan and Solden early March for me this season.
Cant help with short breaks as I find they cost as much if not more than a weeks package, if you can afford the time off take it.

Niederau - same old, same old on here: theres a remarkable small loyal band of regulars who seem to hide on this forum until someone pops up with their own varying opinion. Maybe, just maybe you should try it for yourself, and then tell us what you honestly feel about it.....but be prepared to be hung, drawn and quartered publicly if it doesn't fit with the in-crowd ;-)

Spain - I have looked at Formigal and Baqueira-Beret as serious options this past few years, but couldn't get my group to gain enough interest in either resort, although BB seemingly gets one of the largest snowfalls in Europe on a consistent basis, so I really must go sometime soon. Ski Miquel seem to be the best way of getting there affordably on a package, but my previous experience with that company in Bad Gastein wasn't the greatest. I haven't actually come across anyone I know who has skied Spain yet.

Look forward to your continued input on here, no matter what anyone may think of your own individual opinions ;-)

Haha TonyH, expected you to chip in with Niederau! I've been there, quite enjoyed it at the time because it fitted the bill...first ski trip in 13 years for me, first ever ski trip for the wife and kids. And so Niederau with its excellent ski schools and easy runs was exactly what we needed. Would I go again? Don't think so.

And don't forget I went to BB in 2012 with Ski Miquel. Had a fantastic time, the resort is great and they get huge amounts of snow. Would definitely return.

I knew someone on here had been to BB, I had forgotten it was you! I do like the look of the skiing there. Have a great return to the snow anyway.
